Hilton Head Haven-Swim/Tennis/Pools at a great Beachside Resort

"My wife and I stayed at Laura and Tim's Hilton Head Resort condo for the month of February 2020. We didn't have great expectations as we knew the condo would be small, but it was relatively inexpensive and appeared to have everything we needed for a month long stay. We were disappointed in both the condition of the condo and the Hilton Head Resort. First, the condo. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable, and the unit came with all of the things in the amenity list. However, it is in serious need of updating, a thorough scrubbing, and a new paint job. The closets were jammed with so much stuff, we did not have room to hang clothes for a month. Maybe the locked large closets that were unavailable could have been better utilized. To her credit, Laura was very responsive to our complaints. Now the resort. It is very poorly maintained. Dirty carpeting and elevators, holes in the ceilings/roofs, in need of many repairs. We could not use the facilities – the washers/dryers were out of order for 3 weeks out of our month. We had visitors who did not have passes who were told to leave the resort area entirely (even though there was a parking spot they could have used to wait at) until we could get permission from Laura or Tim for them to enter (which Laura responded to right away). It was very embarrassing to us. We had no prior knowledge of a visitor requirement like this. "The condo was comfortable and a good size for just my husband and I. The master bedroom bed was quite comfortable. The couch in the living room was comfortable as well. The boardwalk to get to the beach was lovely-we saw herons and ibis every day on our walk. However, although the listing states the condo overlooks the lagoon, I mistakenly thought from the pictures that you could also see the boardwalk and a bit of the ocean from the balcony. You can't. You actually have to walk past a couple other buildings to get to the boardwalk. This was fine with us but just be aware for anyone who can't walk far, it's a bit of a hike. I believe there may be a shuttle to the beach, though. The beach itself was gorgeous-extremely clean with the most comfortable sand I've ever walked on. I was able to walk barefoot in comfort at both high and low tides. It would have been nice if we had been given more than one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and more than one roll of paper towel for the kitchen, but otherwise the condo is well stocked. We appreciated the beach chairs that were there for our use. The condo is conveniently located near Shelter Cove which has many different shops and restaurants, as well as a grocery store. It's just a few minutes away by car. "The location of the condo was great! The walk to the beach was great for exercise, but long with small children. But a few things that disappointed us was the booster seat/high chair was disgusting. I do not know what was on it, maybe candy or gum of some kind. Second, we have a crawling infant and the rugs have stains and hair all over them. The floors were sticking, mostly in the kitchen and master bathroom. Third, the electrical cord for the microwave had to be placed just right to get the microwave to work. And Last, there were bugs (looks like cockroaches to us) in the dishwasher and between the cabinets near the stove. The resort itself was well maintained! The condo is in the building with the indoor pool which made it a good and bad thing-- It was an easy walk, but the indoor pool doesn't close until 10 or 11 at night and this made it hard for our 5 year old to go to bed at night with the noise from the indoor pool. "This is our families second trip to Hilton Head. This condo resort is centrally located and staff was pleasant. Condo owners were amazing to communicate with. Condo building is slightly dated and worn. But nothing to prevent a future stay. The actual condo unit was decorated in a fun beach theme and very family comfortable. Walk to beach from unit is around 10 mins so pack light. We saw signs for the beach shuttle but with our total of 5 trips to the beach we never saw the shuttle. "Our condo was great. Clean and spacious. We had 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The beds were super comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking essentials we needed. We cooked breakfast and had lunch at the condo most days, then went out for dinner. The frig is large enough to stock food for a family for a week. We often sat on the small screened in porch for our meals. It was lovely. The hot tub and indoor pool were in the same building so we had a short walk down the stairs. The outdoor pool was also nice. It's a bit of a walk to the ocean down the boardwalk, but it's beautiful and natural use of the land. We even saw an alligator in the pond near the boardwalk! Coco's restaurant is at the end of the boardwalk-great place to cool off and grab a beer. The ocean was clean and uncrowded. The condo unit included comfortable beach chairs and an umbrella. "The condo is so cute and very well equipped with everything that you would need for your stay(including beach chairs, pool/sand toys, and the cart for the beach)! It was perfect for our family of 3! The resort itself is dated, but everything is clean and safe. The boardwalk to the beach is very pretty, but keep in mind that it is a 15 minute walk to the beach from your unit (there is a cart which is a lifesaver and you can take a shuttle to and from if you time it right). The resort is so close to many restaurants and grocery stores. Great location! We had booked our room for 1 week, but unfortunately had to evacuate due to the hurricane so we were only there for a few nights. "First of all the property owners are extremely responsive. I received a reply to all of my questions promptly. Wife and I were there with our daughter and granddaughter. The indoor pool came in very handy on one rainy day. The facility is dated, but clean and safe. For the cost, it was a great value, much less expensive than having to rent 2 hotel rooms. I absolutely would have given it a 5 star except for a few minor details. The beds were just not comfortable. Maybe we’re spoiled, we have a new memory foam at home. The pillows were mush. There were not enough towels or wash cloths for 4 people. I wound up at Wal Mart and bought cheap pillows and towels. In fairness, I did not mention any of these issues to the owner. I thought the condo could have used an upgrade in lighting. Newer brighter light bulbs would make a difference. The location was perfect, 5 minute walk to the beach. My deposit was promptly refunded. "The buildings are very outdated overall, but the actual unit was more updated and clean. The Keurig was a nice addition! We had 5 people staying and we only received 5 bath towels and washcloths. That meant laundry for us at least once daily. A few more linens would be a great addition in the future! Unfortunately the beach cart had a broken wheel when we arrived, so we weren’t able to use it at all. Also the cart mentioned in the paperwork (that was supposed to be under the bed) was not there either. :( The bathtub did not have a stopper, so it made it impossible to take a bath until we were able to get a replacement. The towel rack fell off the wall in the master bath several times as well, which should be an easy fix with the right tools. Also, the twin bed on the left side is about to fall! Very wobbly and sounded like it might break anytime you rolled over in it while trying to sleep. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and very private! The boardwalk was always very clean and well maintained. It was an extremely long walk, but if you were lucky enough to catch the shuttle it helped greatly. Coco’s was very accommodating with the easy access to bathrooms while on the beach too. "The condo/villa had everything we needed plus some! ( Beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys, fully equipped kitchen,..) The inside was clean and neat when arrived! Was close to stores/gas stations. The beach was not overly crowded. The boardwalk to the beach was scenic but a few minutes walk...which was ok for us, because we needed the exercise..lol. CoCos bar and grill at the end of the board walk was very convenient!! Great spot for lunch or drinks! Great outdoor pool with deli/drinks..and small gift shop had other things you might need for your stay if you do not feel like leaving the resort. Great indoor pool, and hot tub! "Laura was very easy to work with during our stay. The condo is very well stocked with everything we needed. It is on the top floor so you do not have someone above you. The boardwalk is a little long, but the shuttle to the beach ran constantly after 9:30 am. The beach wasn't crowded at all. "Beautiful condo!! It was stocked with everything we needed! Staff was friendly and the stay was awesome!! The balcony was screened it which was soooo nice. We didn't have to worry about bugs while sitting our enjoying the view. The pools were never packed full and my son loved not have to bring water toys because they had floats and noodles (along with multiple other toys for water fun). Just FYI, the boardwalk walk is HOT!! but totally worth it. Of course the other option is waiting for the shuttle (nice to have the option). "They really did think of everything! Beautiful and comfortable! The kids be from and bathroom even had I'd chairs and a smaller toilet Seat for the little ones! My four year old usually sleeps with me in the big bed and she just had to sleep in the kids room! "I loved this specific condo! I actually brought my own cleaning supplies because I'm a little bit of a germaphobe but ended up not needed to clean because this place was spotless! The beds were also very comfortable. I liked being on the top floor so we wouldn't have lots of noise around us but I did not like being in the building with the indoor pool because even though quiet time was at 9:30 no one followed those rules and with a 2 year old we had trouble getting him to sleep. I was also not aware how far of a walk it was to the beach either, probably a good 15 minutes. Fortunately the views were great on the walk there which made it better. They have really thought of everything that a young family could want or need, from a booster seat to beach toys. The screened-in balcony was very nice in the evenings. They even provide a beach cart to get your crew back and forth across the boardwalk. Our only issue was a broken elevator that meant we had to walk a bit more to get back to the condo, but it was fixed a few days into our stay. "This is the second year in a row that we have stayed in Laura & Tim's condo for our beach vacation. As with last year, we had a wonderful experience there. The condo is very clean and just as pictured. It is the perfect size for our family of 4. The kids love that they get their own twin beds and don't have to share a bed. We love that there are 2 full bathrooms, making showers after being at the beach faster. The kitchen has all of the dishes, silverware, and pots & pans we needed to make some of our meals in the condo. "I took my 9 year old son and MIL on Fall Break and we stayed at Laura's condo. Wonderful experience! The condo has everything you need for a confortable week. Size-wise, we would have been just as comfortable if my husband and Mom and Dad had been with us. The condo decor was soothing -- great color palatte. The beach was perfect. My son and I LOVED our daily walk on the boardwalk down to the beach -- we saw such beautiful wildlife (great pics of White Egrets and Blue Herons and Fiddler Crabs). There is a fun bar at the end of the boardwalk, prior to walking on the beach. The resort is very centrally located -- on the lateral side of HHI (Folly Field Beach side), almost in the middle of the Island between Harbor Town and the beginning of the Island. "This was a great place to spend our little weekend getaway to Hilton Head Island. The property is exactly as described and the condo was perfect. We have a 1 year old and it took him all of 5 minutes to find the toys in the 2nd bedroom also having the pack and play and booster seat there in the room was great to not to have to bring that with us. The location of this property is great being about mid-island and only minutes from my favorite place to eat on the island - Giuseppe's. We enjoyed walking on the beach and spotting all the animals in the lagoon, and found the indoor heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna to be just perfect! Exactly as described, well decorated and stocked with a great amount of "beach needed" items with chairs and toys, etc. 4 adults and a toddler were more than comfortable. The walk to the beach via boardwalk takes about 10 minutes, but the shuttle ran every 30 minutes to accommodate those that may not want to walk. The location of the condo was also close in proximity to any entertainment your family desired. We went to Sea Pines to Harbour Town and The Salty Dog and it was all of 5 miles away!! "Description, photos and reviews are spot on. This is a perfect getaway for families looking for a comfortable and clean accomodations with easy beach access. We loved being able to set up our chairs, umbrella and blanket on the beach in the morning -- swim, read, relax -- and lunch at the condo. After a quick nap (adults included), we were happily back beachside for a breezy late afternoon/early evening beach adventure. Beach was pristine and uncrowded. Shuttle was a plus and we liked the convenience of Coco's right on the beach to grab a cool drink or snack (they have bathrooms too). We quickly learned to time the waves/tide for optimal boogey boarding to the delight of our children (14 yr and 11yr). They were comfortably situtated in the bedroom with twin beds and enjoyed having their own bathroom. We were equally pleased with the master bedroom set up. Decor is well-appointed seaside Pottery Barn theme with high-end items I recognized from my favorite stores (TJMaxx, HomeGoods, Bed-Bath&-Beyond and Kohls). Owners was extremely responsive and a pleasure. They stock the condo well with very family friendly items (e.g., beach toys, chairs, games, videos, books, tennis racquets/balls, an extra AEROBED and a hand truck to help move groceries etc). Kitchen had everything I needed (and I am a foodie). We ate the majority of our meals in -- which was wonderful family time. Visit nearby Shelter Cove for fireworks on Tuesday night. Stop by Guiseppi's Pizza for awesome Italian pie (a rare raving review from a Jersey Girl who spent her teen years working at Vinny's Pizza House). We enjoyed the amenities - indoor pool and tennis courts. My teens loved our 2 hr boat rental for a nice cruise on the bay (ask for active duty discount).
