"We really enjoyed our stay at Tobi’s cabin during the holidays. The Christmas tree set the perfect atmosphere. The kids enjoyed the fenced back yard - perfect for snow play. The kitchen is well stocked and although the stove could use updating we were able to cook our meals without any issues. Tobi was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. We hope to be back soon." - Liliana G., 01/10/2019 (VRBO Review)

"We loved this place as soon as we got there. You start looking around and it just kept getting better. Comfort of a cabin with the knotty pine walls and ceiling with a modern twist in the bathrooms. The outside decks are amazing with a picnic table on each deck front and back. Having 2 fireplaces, for each game and living room for each set of family needs is a great function that suited me best. Plenty of games and board games for kids as well. Fully stocked kitchen for what you need to cook, bbq, and bake. The location is prime for the slopes being only 10 minute walk to Bear Mountain, 5 minutes from the zoo and right next to the golf course. You can tell the owners take pride in this place, so please respect it better than your own so we can all enjoy it for years to come." - Anonymous, 12/07/2017 (VRBO Review)

"Very nice place. Would have liked to have stayed longer. A couple of minor things that needed attention but, other than that. Those minor things did not keep us from enjoying ourselves. I would definitely go back!!" - Ruth O., 11/06/2017 (VRBO Review)

"The home looks bigger in person than in pictures thanks to the nice open layout. Cozy but still spacious. Well placed on the property leaving a nice little place for the kids to play and explore. The sprawling decks are perfect for relaxing. Easy location to come and go from it's not lost in those meandering streets way up further in the hills. Bathrooms are nicely updated with terrific step in shower and plenty of hot water. Would book again for sure which is the ultimate compliment up here. We have had more bummer rental experiences in the past than we can count!" - max k., 09/20/2017 (VRBO Review)

"This cozy cabin was just what we were looking for. The spacious game room with pool table/games and large wood burning fireplace was a plus. There was a lot of thought put into the decor as well, very homey and rustic. A lot of updates including a lovely master shower with many shower heads. It has all the amenities one would need including BBQ, Washer/Dryer, dishwasher, cooking utensils, etc.. We will definitely rent this cabin again and experience it in the spring and summer and enjoy the large decking and BBQ area outdoors." - Jodie V., Templeton CA, 03/02/2017 (VRBO Review)

"It's a great, cozy yet spacious cabin, ideally situated near Bear Mt. ski area and a national forest area right across the street. All amenities you could want were provided as advertised, enabling a relaxing experience. This is our second straight New Years weekend at this cabin, with five of our family including a 2-year old grandson. Great opportunity for snow play in the cabin back yard, as well as the forest area. Owner Tobi was great/easy to work with and pricing very reasonable." - Bill B., Mission VIejo, CA, 01/10/2017 (VRBO Review)

"Large one story cabin with beautiful stained glass windows throughout! Cooked all our meals in the large kitchen. Great dinning table inside and 2 patio tables outside. Wonderful huge deck overlooking large back yard with rope swing. We sat on the porch and watched our son play in the backyard and on the swing for hours. Lots of puzzles, toys, card decks, Legos and 3 TVs with dozens of Disney VHS tapes. Very comfortable for 5 of us! Walk-in closet in the master was large enough for the roll-away bed to fit and sleep one person, if needed. Portable crib was also available." - Allison K., Lake Forest, CA, 07/10/2014 (VRBO Review)

"Our annual family get away to Big Bear, which includes two mother-in-laws and a toddler, requires us to look for a cabin that meets various age interests. Pine Rock Cabin was a perfect choice. It is a fun and happy place to stay. Tobi was wonderful in contacting me promptly and answering questions. All of the rooms are creatively decorated with touches of the bear theme. The two bathrooms are clean and modern, and well stocked with towels, toilet paper, and even a hair dryer. All linens for the sofa bed, roll away bed, and futon are provided in labeled containers that are easy to find. We had fun preparing meals in the bright kitchen which is well stocked for all cooking needs, and even included kitchen towels, paper towels, and trash liners. The appliances, including the washer and dryer, are in great condition. Both fireplaces provided us with a warm, cozy atmosphere. We had fun playing pool, and the assortment of toys kept our little one very entertained. While we all hung out together, but having the option of televisions in every room was nice. The outside decks were inviting even in the cool weather, and we just had to try out the hammock. The location is beautiful and perfect for walking to the slopes, and shopping and restaurants were just minutes away. The best part was that it was exactly as described. We all loved being at Pine Rock Cabin and hope to return next year. The only thing we could have wished for was a bathtub, but we fall felt it was perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay." - Elizabeth H., 01/29/2014 (VRBO Review)

"This was our second trip to Pine Rock in 6 weeks. We spent the Thanksgiving weekend here and had a blast with the family. They have everything you need in the cabin. Lots of games to play and room to spread out. TV's in every room with 2 DVD players. With a huge side yard, the Grandchildren got to play in the snow outside and feed the squirrels nuts. This is truly a home away from home. Can't wait to come back to Pine Rock again. Electric blankets on both beds make for a cozy night's sleep. Best Western down the road had great accommodations for Mother in law. The new door lock system is very nice. No need to worry about keys and easy to remember the code. The only reason we would rent any other cabin, is if this were not available." - Mark, Huntington Beach, CA, 12/04/2013 (VRBO Review)

"My family and I stayed at the cabin for two nights. As soon as we arrived, we were very pleased with the comfortable setup and the cleanliness. The huge backyard full with snow provided everyone a lot of entertainment. Everything was provided so we didn't really feel like anything was missing. Check-in was really simple and convenient. It was very kids friendly with booster and toys available. We are already talking about coming back here again next year!" - Ting Family, Porter Ranch, CA, 02/28/2013 (VRBO Review)

"I vacationed to Tobi's wonderful cabin with my family. The cabin was full of games, pool table and nice yard to play and is very close to shops, slopes and hiking. The cabin was bigger than expected and was plenty of room for 6 people. Tobi left little notes everywhere that we got a kick out of that shared her desire to leave the cabin the way you found it. I would absolutely recommend this cabin to my friends. If I had to give one comment/feedback would be to leave a little pile of wood for us as it is one of those things we want to do when in the mountains. Thank you!" - Anonymous, Glendora,CA, 12/15/2012 (VRBO Review)

"We just spent an extended weekend at Pine Rock Cabin. The cabin is located within walking distance to the Zoo and Bear Mountain Ski Resort. It has a cozy feel inside and lots of room for a family of 4. It’s very kid friendly and there is a TV in every room! The one story layout makes it easy to relax and enjoy yourself with your kids. There is a game room with a pool table, darts, a bar and a fireplace and a nice size dining room table. Both bedrooms have comfortable king size beds which you don’t find in many cabins! Our kids really enjoyed playing in the back yard where there was lots of snow for sledding and building a snowman. After a day out, it was nice to come back to a cozy warm cabin and enjoy some hot chocolate while watching a movie on the flat screen TV. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us to cuddle up on the couches with blankets. The owner is very friendly and easy to talk to. We will definitely be back!" - Maria, Temecula, Ca, 02/23/2012 (VRBO Review)

"From the very first inquiry I made about this cabin, everything was perfect! The owner was kind enough to call me and gave me all the info I needed as a first timer to Big Bear. The cabin is in a great location. Short walk to Bear Mountain and only about a 5 minute drive to snow summit. The layout was perfect for our family. Big rooms and bathrooms, very comfortable living space. The kids spent most of their time in the game room, which gave us time to relax in the living room. All in all, this is everything we could have hoped for in a cabin, and will certainly be renting it again. The owner (Tobi) should teach classes on customer service. She is thoughtful, kind and easy to work with. By far the best vacation we have taken as a family." - Anonymous, San Diego, Ca, 01/15/2012 (VRBO Review)

"Great Cabin - 1.5 miles to Big Bear Mountain (walking distance). This cabin is clean, comfortable, and spacious. Great yard for the kids to play. Detailed directions on how to use everything, ie. heat, lights etc. The rental was quick and easy and Tobi is great to work with. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for rental in Big Bear." - Lynnette H., 12/28/2011 (VRBO Review)

Thank you for your review, but I believe that you were referring to Snow Summit ski area, rather than Bear Mountain ski area, which is the closer ski area to our cabin. According to Google Maps, Pine Rock Cabin is 0.5 miles walking distance to Bear Mountain ski area and 1.6 miles walking distance to Snow Summit ski area. The cabin is located between the two ski areas.

"What a great experience! Everything at the cabin was as stated in the description. Tobi did a great job communicating before, during, and after. Great amenities We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner with a 20lb turkey! Slopes and golf very close. Would definitley come back again and recommend. Also, Big Bear Sporting Goods is the best place! Steve taught my son how to cast and reel on his new fishing pole!" - Anonymous, Tujunga, CA, 12/03/2011 (VRBO Review)

"We just returned from Pine Rock Cabin and had such a GREAT time. The home is a very charming and cozy and has plenty of room. Plus it has an awesome game room. Most of the cabins we looked at online were very old and dated looking. This cabin is updated and immaculate, somewhere where you'd want to return to for future trips. Everything you need is there, even electric blankets! Tobi, the owner is awesome and was always a phone call away if we had any questions. The cabin is in a beautiful wooded area, yet close to the slopes and restaurants. We are hoping to go back in Feb. 2012. I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful home." - Dina H., Tustin, CA, 11/26/2011 (VRBO Review)

"This was our third summer at Pine Rock Cabin, our home away from home. It’s cozy, well furnished and completely stocked with all the utensils needed for daily living. All you need to do is supply the food. There are many amenities including a washer and dryer and gas grill. It’s centrally located to the lake, golf, tennis, and all the restaurants. Ken and Tobi take great care in making sure their patrons are comfortable, relaxed and only need to concentrate on having a good experience while staying at the cabin. We highly recommend Pine Rock Cabin as a great place to stay." - KerryGrant, Indio, CA, 10/05/2011 (VRBO Review)

"Pine Rock Cabin is truly a home away from home. Not only is it a must stay, it is a must return. Beautiful scenery from every window, all the essentials needed for a week or weekend away can be found right in the cabin. The ages in our family are 40, 27, 26, 18, 15, 7, and 2, there were games and entertainment for all of us. An additional perk is that Tobi, the owner, was wonderful in providing all the information and how-to's needed to make our stay smooth sailing." - Anonymous, Bonita, CA, 03/10/2011 (VRBO Review)

"The owner was wonderful to deal with and the cabin and property are lovely.. Our group consisted of 3 generations, my husband and myself, our teenagers and our married son, his wife and two little girls (5 & 2). It was perfect for all ages...the living room is cozy and warm....the pool room/game room was so fun . The master bedroom was perfect for our son's family of 4....the walk in closet is converted into a mini-bedroom with a toddler bed and a port-a-crib....the two little girls loved it! My husband and I stayed in the other king size bedroom and the teenagers had the pull out & futon beds in the living room. There was snow when we were there and the side yard was great for sleding (the cabin had two we could use!). The location is great...just down the hill from the slopes. We're planning on going again next year during the winter and maybe even planning a spring or summer trip too!" - Laurie, Oceanside, CA, 01/28/2011 (VRBO Review)

"Pine Rock Cabin was exactly what I was looking for. We were on a 3-day getaway from L.A. with our 2 kids, 6 and 8. The cabin had every amenity we wanted and more. Super close to Bear Mountain slopes. The kids loved the puzzles and games. They (and we!) also had a blast sledding down the stairs into the back yard. The entire cabin was very clean and well-appointed; the beds and furniture were cozy and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked. Tobi was very gracious and helpful, she answered all my questions and was a pleasure to deal with -- much better than Big Bear Cool Cabins. I also liked the key-pad entry that dispensed with the need to go through a broker or agency to gain access. We will definitely stay there again when we go back to Big Bear." - Maria, Los Angeles, 01/19/2011 (VRBO Review)

"I rented Pine Rock Cabin right after Christmas and spent 3 days there with my boys. The cabin was very clean and well kept. It is set up for families, as there is a pack n play in one of the bedrooms. The owner was very friendly and was very good at communicating and answering questions. The location is great and is close to restaurants, skiing, banks, etc. I would recommend this cabin to friends and we plan to come back again too." - Three Amigos, Valley Center, CA, 01/03/2011 (VRBO Review)

"My husband and I spent the month of July at Pine Rock Cabin and can honestly say it is the perfect vacation rental for the summer in Big Bear Lake. The kitchen and bathrooms are centrally located in the cabin with 2 big bedrooms, a family room and a great entertainment room, including a pool table, surrounding them. The rooms are paneled in beautiful knotty pine and it’s all on one level. The owners have done extensive renovation to make the cabin fresh and inviting. The entire cabin is surrounded by a deck which is great for bird, squirrel and chipmunk watching. The cabin is located right off the 9 hole Big Bear Golf course. It is beautiful with lush greenery and views of the mountains. The course is fun and some holes can be challenging. Rates are good, especially after 3:00 pm. We golfed two – three times a week and next year we will buy the pass. Definitely a more economical way to go. The Villlage is just a 15 minutes away. The Village has Equata Yoga with classes for all levels everyday. I went to yoga 3 times per week. Each class is $12 or packages are available. In addition, the Copper Kettle offers cooking demonstrations on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Pastry Chef is great. The chocolate bread pudding was to die for. The Village has many really good restaurants. We tried them all and of course have our favorites. Top of the list is Peppercorn followed by Saucy Mamas Pizza, Boo Bears (great breakfast and cinnamon rolls) and a new one Himalaya. Not far from the Village are Sweet Basil, Pongs, Thelmas (know for its chicken pot pie) and El Pollo Loco. If grilling is your thing, the cabin has a propane grill and two grocery stores are five minutes away, Vons and Stater Bros. If you’d rather catch your own, the fishing is good with trout the major catch. The lake is 15 minutes away. We took the $10 per person, 1 ½ hour, Miss Liberty tour of the lake. Items of interest are the homes of celebrities in both Big Bear and Fawnskin, the history of the lake, the solar observatory and the humorous antecedents by the commentator. Also available are boat and jet ski rentals along with the public swim beach with life guards. The cabin offers free wireless internet and extended cable TV. We also take our XM radio for additional listening. We would recommend this cabin to anyone interested in staying at Big Bear Lake." - KerryGrant, Indio, CA, 08/15/2010 (VRBO Review)

"We had a great time in Big Bear thanks in large part to this wonderful cabin. It's perfect for families with teens--there were plenty of things to keep everyone busy, from the pool table to the board games to the DVD players. The whole cabin was immaculate and well stocked with everything we needed, and is situated in a perfect location close to the lake and slopes. Tobi was very communicative before and during our stay to make sure our questions were answered. It was a wonderful weekend--thanks, Tobi!" - thelisap, Encinitas, CA, 06/11/2010 (VRBO Review)

"My husband and I stayed for 3 weeks during the month of July. The weather was spectacular and we played golf 2-3 times a week. The local golf course is just one block away. Our greatest joy was sitting on the back deck and watching the squirrels, chipmunks, blue jays and woodpeckers feed. We bought animal feed at the local feed store on Big Bear Blvd. The cabin is well maintained and stocked so we didn’t have to bring anything but our clothes and toiletries. The beds have electric blankets with dual controls. The klitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and dishes, even paper towels. The local Vons and Stater Bros. are very convenient at just a mile away down Moonridge drive. So dining in is a real treat. The cabin comes equipped with an outdoor gas grill and the propane tanks are full. It also has free wireless internet service so we could stay in touch with friends and family as well as keep up on any breaking news. The cabin also has 3 TVs with expanded basic Charter cable. When not eating in, our favorite restaurants are, Thelmas for breakfast and lunch, Pongs for great sushi and Chinese food, and Sweet Basil for trendy light Italian food. The prices for all 3 restaurants are very reasonable. The lake and Big Bear Village is about 5 miles away and easy to get to down Big Bear Blvd. There is a a swim beach, boat rentals and plenty of good fishing. The Village has two movie theaters with current films and plenty of walking for shopping, eating and exercise. The ice cream is a real summertime treat. We have already rented the cabin for next July and look forward to another pleasant time in Big Bear thanks to this wonderful Cabin and the thoughtfulness of its owners." - Carey Beary, Indio, CA, 04/14/2010 (VRBO Review)

"My sister, brother and I had a reunion and stayed at Pine Rock Cabin. It was as if anything you could possibly need or want was already there waiting for you. We were amazed at how well it was equipped, everything from muffin tins to dryer sheets! We had no children with us but children would had so much fun with games, toys and such. It was very comfortable and cozy, a wonderful atmosphere with beautiful fireplaces. We enjoyed the pool table and just relaxing by the fire. The forest was right across the street which just invited you to come take a walk. It was an amazing time, wish we could have stayed longer." - DPW/dZLji3b4MWhwepusaqhDCJH04VBdoMd5NPRZ, ITZvKneP41zW6jfdzrkOAFGy5YyHZ1ayCvZP4g==, 03/13/2010 (VRBO Review)

You had everything we needed and we had so much fun. My right arm hurts from throwing darts even though I never won a game. I was so sad when we left. I did not want to leave. You have a very clean and well kept property and really appreciate you sharing it with us. You had everything we needed and we had so much fun. My right arm hurts from throwing darts even though I never won a game. I was so sad when we left. I did not want to leave. You have a very clean and well kept property and really appreciate you sharing it with us. Happy New Year's to you and we can't wait to book with you again." - joann3, Orange County, 03/13/2010 (HomeAway Review)

"We absolutely loved this cabin. It felt like a home away from home and were very comfortable in this cabin. It is in a great location right down the street from Big Bear and and easy drive to the restaurants. We had fun with the pool table and the back yard is wonderful. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone." - Anonymous, Orange, CA, 03/13/2010 (HomeAway Review)

"It was our first time staying in Big Bear area in winter (although we stayed in other cabins in other places). I won't list many of the things said in other reviews -- every good thing said is true. The property is in perfect shape, very clean, thought out and well maintained. Some nice touches include: a variety of board games for kids and adults, electric blankets, a separate little room for a child (designed for a small kid, but our 13-year old took over it). In winter time you can sled right from the deck of the house! We ended up not going to any snow play areas because of that." - Andrei M., Los Angeles, CA, 03/03/2010 (VRBO Review)

"We went to stay here for 2 nights. It is a great cabin. The location is wonderful. Perfect for the kids to sled, as there was a great slope in the yard. No need for us to go sledding anywhere else. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Very clean and well maintained. Tobi was so nice and made sure we had all we needed. She even called when we were on our way to alert us of traffic. The location was great, off the main road and very quiet. Close to the village and restaraunts. The cabin was great for kids great as it is stocked with games. There is a pool table as well. Thanks for a great vacation!! We would definately stay again when we return." - Slynn11, irvine, ca, 01/07/2010 (VRBO Review)

"A few friends and I went up to Big Bear for me and my friends Bday weekend and had a great time! The cabin is soo cute and cozy and soo close to Bear mountain. The cabin had all the kitchen ware we needed to cook a nice meal too. The super market is soo close. The cabin is just central to everything you need. We would definitely will be coming back again to stay at that cabin! We loved it!" - Sylvs, 12/09/09(HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

It was an amazing time, wish we could have stayed longer." - DPW/dZLji3b4MWhwepusaqhDCJH04VBdoMd5NPRZ, ITZvKneP41zW6jfdzrkOAFGy5YyHZ1ayCvZP4g==, 10/14/2009 (VRBO Review)

"This fall, my wife and i had the privelage to stay in the pine rock cabin. several times a year, for the past couple years, we take a weekend trip to big bear to do fishing and snowboarding during the fall and winter. Our stay during this october was deffinatly one that we will remember for a while. this cabin has a very warm feel as soon as you walk through the door. everything inside makes you have that " at home" feeling while being in big bear. this cabin was perfect for our fishing trip due to the fact it only took a couple minutes to reach the east shore and i cant wait to see how the trip in decmber goes.thanks goes out to tobi and her family for creating such a relaxing and comfortable atmospher for others to enjoy on thier own holiday." - michael, twentynine palms, ca, 10/09/09(HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

We have already rented the cabin for next July and look forward to another pleasant time in Big Bear thanks to this wonderful Cabin and the thoughtfulness of its owners." - Carey Beary, Indio, CA, 08/06/2009 (VRBO Review)

"We had such a great time at the Pine Rock Cabin which far exceeded our expectations. Location is the primary reason we chose it and the fact that it had a pool table is the second reason. It is very clean, in a safe & quiet neighborhood, centrally located, and complete with all ammenities you could think of. The Owners' concern of your comfort is obvious and makes you feel welcome the minute you book the cabin. Thank you Tobi & Ken for opening your home to us \" - HAC203299, Placentia, CA, 04/19/2009 (VRBO Review)

"Every place around Big Bear seems to claim "close to the slopes." We've been disappointed quite a few rtimes with other rentals. Well let me tell you THIS PLACE is CLOSE to the SLOPES! The cabin was clean, cozy and the owners are super friendly. They really went above and beyond when we threw in some "special requests." Can't wait to stay there again! Thanks for everything!" - Amy, California, 04/18/09(HomeAwayConnect Guestbook Entry)

"I never leave a comment in a guest book but our experience with Tobi and her Cabin finally inspired me to leave my first. First the cabin: very spacious and comfortable, especially if you are with kids (we had a one year old, 3 year old and a five year old with us). It is very close to the slope and to the city center. We played a lot of pool which is just one of the the numerous games that are available for guests. One of our group members lost a ring and initially it was nowhere to be found. A month later Tobi e-mailed me that she found the ring and today she handed it over to me in LA, we met just 10 blocks from where I work, that is service! Thank you very much for all your help Tobi and we will for sure come back!!" - Jeffrey E., Venice, CA, 04/14/2009 (VRBO Review)
