Come and enjoy our Big Sur rustic, unique, creative, loving, peaceful 'Jewel in the Forest' property! Conveniently located halfway between Carmel & Big Sur you will surely enjoy a spectacular drive along the spectacular Hwy 1 and then onto a serene and lovely forest road to arrive at this unique dome home nestled among the redwoods. We get plenty of sun most of the year even though we're in the forest. Close to amazing local hiking, shopping and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The area hosts many special events all year. Of course you may just want to relax and feel your connection to nature. This property is owned by local artist Sofanya where you might find her working in her studio or gallery. Ask Sofanya if you'd like to peruse her line of wearable art in the newly expanded art gallery! Also check out her painting, wood carvings, prints and note cards and more. The Fuschia Garden Apartment is located on the garden level of the Dome House. Walk around the right side of the Dome to the gate in back to the Fuschia. You'll have a small private garden/sitting area surrounded by Redwoods. The apartment has everything you'll need to be comfy cozy including a bedroom with queen bed, small flat screen TV, full kitchen with dishes, utensils, pots n pans....pretty much anything you need for cooking. Bathroom with shower. There's a reading nook between the bedroom & kitchen also suitable for sleeping/napping. There's a small futon in the sitting/living room area where you can relax and read, meditate or just rest.

DVD Library just outside the apartment towards the front of the Dome which is also a spare bathroom. I call it the "Library in the Loo"! There are several areas on the property where you're welcome to relax. The Sanctuary in the Redwoods is lovely and has a double hammock under a lovely tree or you can meander over to the creek and sit on a bench listening to the running waters while connecting with Nature! Art supplies provided so you can express yourself!

We are conveniently located halfway between Carmel & Big Sur and 2 miles into the forest from the Coast Hwy 1. You can find many wonderful sites and activities both in Carmel and Big Sur and in between! The Rocky Pt Restaurant is just down the road and has one of the most spectacular views on the planet! You'll find lots of hiking, shopping, art galleries, excursions for whale watching and so much more. Also while visiting 'The Jewel' you might want to visit Sofanya in her studio or gallery also located on the property. She is known for her 'Essence Portraits' listed as one of the top 8 "things to do in Big Sur" in a website called "New Now Next". If you're interested in an art class either private, as a couple or with family please make an appointment. Classes are 1-1.5 hrs and great creative fun! She also holds occasional concerts, art workshops and special events at 'Carabella's Theatre'. You may also be interested in renting the space for an event or retreat of your own! The theatre is a small stage and circle area surrounded by redwoods. With the stage lights and magical ambiance it is truly a delightful place for performance and any creativity. The property has several dwellings to choose from, each with their own unique rustic charm.
